18 kg & 9-speed automatic: New Lemmo e-bike

Lemmo introduces a new e-bike in a familiar design

Not every brand that launches a smart bike manages to hold its ground against established competitors. However, when Lemmo introduced its debut e-bike, simply called the “One,” it was already clear that the Berlin-based company had the potential to establish itself in the market.

The concept of offering a practical and smart e-bike with its own unique niche has proven successful. Useful features such as a battery that can double as a power bank for mobile office use impressed us in our hands-on test of the first Lemmo One, alongside its solid riding performance. The MK2 update further improved comfort and everyday usability.

Lemmo Collab.Ride: smart, lightweight, and more powerful

The new model gains a significant boost with the Dual Mode Hub drivetrain, delivering 30% more torque. With 52 Nm at the rear wheel, climbs and long rides against headwinds should no longer pose much of a challenge.

Despite this, the Collab.Ride remains well under 20 kg. In total, the urban e-bike weighs 18 kg, of which around 3 kg comes from the Smartpac — a removable battery with a capacity of 530 Wh.

This battery is claimed to deliver up to 100 km of range. As with previous models, the smart energy pack is neatly integrated into the frame and can also serve as an XXL power bank with USB-A and USB-C ports, making it a convenient power source on the go.

AI-powered e-shifting

The Collab.Ride becomes even smarter with its intelligent, automatic 9-speed chain drivetrain. As predicted in recent e-bike trends, more manufacturers are introducing automatic shifting systems — even on more affordable models. However, unlike conventional systems, Lemmo’s approach does not rely solely on speed to determine gear selection.

Lemmo’s Smart Auto Shifting is AI-driven, combining data from torque, cadence, speed, and incline sensors to determine the most optimal shifting moment.

The system even works when the bike is used without battery or motor assistance. Riders can also override the system at any time using the thumb controls on the handlebar to manually select gears when needed.
